Superior customer service & value
This merger gives our clients access to the largest and most complete selection
of products available in the industry. In addition, SPS will be enhancing
the R&D portion of its business so that customers will have access to
even more quality-manufactured products.
Four customer service divisions allow
SPS representatives to focus on the specific needs of each customer as outlined
below:
Home Power: for power systems related to homes, cottages, or farms.
Mobile: for power systems related to RVs, boats, or fleet trucks.
Industrial: for power systems and equipment related to large-scale installations
such as the Coast Guard, National Parks and telecommunication sites.
Oil & Gas: for power systems and equipment related to the oil and gas
industry.
Together, we can shape the future
of renewable energy
The strategies the two companies developed ran parallel for many years. We
have also shared the vision of leading the renewable energy market by providing
complete energy solutions. The conclusion we came to when thinking about our
futures was that we would be much stronger together - drawing on each other's
strengths - to be more capable of remaining competitive in this industry.
We still believe in our branch office
approach, with sales staff and inventory in key locations across the country,
to service an extensive network of Authorized SPS Dealers and industrial clientele.
SPS looks forward to continuing to work with the customers, suppliers and
other stakeholders that have made the company a success. Together, we will
fulfill our mission to create a sustainable company that continues to lead
the renewable energy industry.

Carmanah Supplies Alberta’s FireNet with Solar Power System Expansion
Equipment
September 27, 2005
Carmanah’s Power Systems Group, formerly Soltek Powersource Ltd., has received an order for solar system expansion equipment to be installed at the Moose Mountain and Barrier Mountain FireNet locations in Alberta, Canada.
This order follows a larger project in 2002, when Carmanah’s Power Systems Group designed and supplied complete solar system solutions to power 91 communications network sites, known as “FireNet” systems. All FireNet sites are located in remote mountain regions and are operated by the Government of Alberta’s Forest Protection Division. Carmanah’s solar power systems currently provide power to all the remote base stations and mountain top sites. As these satellite-based, wide-area radio communications sites are not easily accessible, low-maintenance, reliable solutions were required.
The expansion equipment ordered includes 13 Evergreen 102 watt modules, Carmanah-manufactured aluminum mounting structures, Carmanah’s proprietary LC-8 Breaker Load Centres and all installation accessories. The equipment for these FireNet installations are designed to endure harsh weather and climates. Evergreen’s EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) and Tedlar™ construction will protect the solar cells from mechanical and environmental stress and Carmanah’s custom anodized aluminum frame will ensure a stable, durable mechanical mounting structure.
For nearly 20 years, Carmanah’s Power Systems Group has worked with clients looking to install solar systems for commercial and industrial applications. Carmanah’s Power Systems Group has become a specialist in remote power, with more than 80,000 solar systems installed in some of the most environmentally challenging locations on Earth. Due to the technical and often customized needs of its commercial and industrial clients, Carmanah has a team of in-house specialists dedicated to system design, implementation and long-term customer satisfaction.
